About the Film

Without Shelter is a documentary film, bringing to light the organizations in Ventura County who are working to alleviate the challenges faced by the homeless population on a daily basis – as seen through the eyes of individuals living on the streets.

Our goals are to use Without Shelter to give opportunity for the organizations working with the homeless population to learn more about each other and to work together; by sharing in the community, churches, synagogues, etc. raising awareness of the need and to solicit additional physical and financial support and offer volunteer opportunities; and to introduce the homeless of Ventura County to the support and help available to them through these organizations. DVD copies of the film Without Shelter will be available to organizations working with the homeless population in Ventura County as a means for inspiring action on the part of the greater community. Each organization will be able to request a DVD of Without Shelter to be used for Advocacy Days, fundraisers and general interest.

Without Shelter is being made in cooperation with the Ventura County Arts Council, Ventura County Community Foundation and ACTION Foundation, and with funding through a grant that has been provided by the James Irvine Foundation. The goal of the grant is to develop relationships between artists and community organizations to further artistic endeavors.
